3I.9: Involvement Fair

As I stepped outside of the student center the first thing that came to my mind was “WOW it is HOT!” .It just turns out that the Involvement/Club Fair ended up being on one of the hottest days in September. Everyone was sweating and crowding around in the shaded areas but it was still a lot of fun. As I looked around the various tables of clubs and organizations under the burning hot sun, there were a couple that seemed to interest me.

One was the Habitat For Humanity, which is a non-profit organization that helps to bring awareness and to provide low income housing for people in need. They volunteer to help build homes and they also host bake sales and concession stands to raise money for those who are less fortunate. They meet every other Monday at 1:10pm in room308 of the Adanti Student Center.

Another one I am considering to join is The Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS). They are a group of students who raise Latino awareness on campus and also try to find solutions to the needs and problems of SCSU’s Latino students. They meet on Mondays at 1:00pm in room201 of the Adanti Student Center.

I am interested in joining these organizations because they will help me become more involved in the community. They also help raise awareness for causes that I can relate to which intrigues me. I hope that I can become a part of them and potentially help others in need.
