16V: Freedom

Freedom is the ability to do what you want. For several teenagers the definition of freedom is college because college is a time where they finally feel as if they are being less controlled by their parents and more responsible for themselves. They have the ability to choose the path that they want their future to take and are in control of who they will become. They aren’t as restrained by strict curfews and constant supervision as they always were before. They can discover new hobbies and interests, meet lots of new people, make new friends, and are free to do more of what they please.

A new word I learned this week is appease. It means to soothe or make better. I also became familiar with the word refute which means to prove to be false.
