13B: Trying to be more Creative...

A problem most of us faced in making our last videos was incorporating creativity. We often focus on getting all the information down and forget to try and make it appealing to the audience. After watching my own video and several of the videos amongst us peers there were several factors which I observed that helped spice up the videos and also noticed things that could make a video dreary. I plan to try and make my video informational while at the same time avoiding the boringness that can come along with discussing academic topics. There are a few creative aspects that I hope to work into my video in order to accomplish this.

First of all I plan to make my video more colorful by adding different color fonts and also switching up the types of slides because having just plain white slides throughout the entire video makes it dull. I also want to use humor by including funny pictures so that there could be gaps in between the reading to help make the video more enjoyable. Another feature I want to use is background music and sound effects to capture the audience’s attention and keep them more engaged. If I have the chance I would also like to include some video footage and maybe audio recordings of things that relate to the topic of studying. Lastly, I hope to include student opinions and personal experiences on the matter so that the viewer can have something to relate to and proof of what has worked for others.

All things being mentioned there are different little techniques people can use when attempting to make their video more creative and fun. I always try my best to make my work presentable so hopefully I will be able to be creative enough to meet everyone’s expectations and needs for this project. At least now I am more aware of some of the things that should be avoided and that take away from the quality of the work. I hope that I can make my video better this time around knowing what I know including a little bit more of an acquaintance with IMovie opposed to last time when I was first introduced to it.
