13I.12: Live Life In The Front Row
On Wednesday November 20th I attended a lecture in the Adanti Student Center Ballroom at 8pm called Front Row. Jon Vroman an educational speaker discussed how to get the most out of college experience. He focused his speech around five main ideas known as Connect, Create, Change, Commit, and Contribute. He emphasized how important it is to sit up front in class because it offers a special experience for learning. He also instructed us to interact with our peers and to picture our favorite superstar every time we meet someone new because it will make them feel joy. He explained that we have the potential to contribute to our community and that even small actions can make a difference. He was very inspirational and told his story of how he ran a 52 mile marathon with minimal training because we can do anything we set our minds to as long as we give it our all and stay committed. I enjoyed this event and I’m happy I was able to receive a free copy of Jon’s book.
